The coalition of center-right and right-wing parties, who won the majority in the new Italian government, lambasted the decision of the outbound Cabinet to expel Russian diplomats amid political uncertainty<\/h4>\n

\u201cThe outgoing government should deal with\u00a0the routine questions, while the expulsion of\u00a0diplomats is a serious step. They act like\u00a0they are a fully functioning government without\u00a0any limits. But they are supported by\u00a0the parties which have only 20 percent representation in\u00a0the newly elected Parliament, and they have no right to\u00a0act like\u00a0this,\u201d an MP of\u00a0Forza Italia, Lucio Malan<\/strong>, told Sputnik<\/em>.<\/p>\n

He was outraged that the government hadn\u2019t consulted the parties, which gained the parliamentarian majority in\u00a0the recent elections. \u201cThey should have explained us that this is what the NATO demands. But they didn\u2019t tell us about\u00a0it, we learned it from\u00a0the TV news. Nobody has consulted with\u00a0us. This is unacceptable. Especially, when we speak about\u00a0the strategy. They say that Russia is behind\u00a0the assassination, which is alarming for\u00a0us. But we need the information about\u00a0the plausible\u00a0facts. We should acquire the understanding of\u00a0political consequences of\u00a0this step,\u201d he told Sputnik<\/em>.<\/p>\n

He also pointed out\u00a0that Italy strives for\u00a0good relations with\u00a0Russia, saying that a sanction policy is fruitless, as\u00a0it can harm the Italian economy without\u00a0bringing the international community \u201cnot an inch closer\u201d to\u00a0resolving such problems as\u00a0the Ukrainian conflict. \u201cWhen the EU discusses the sanctions against\u00a0Moscow we should recognize their goal and the possible results,\u201d Malan said.<\/p>\n
